The conference aimed to advance the theory and application of benefit-cost analysis (BCA) tools with a focus on both research and policy. It provided a platform for scientific exchange, welcoming theoretical and empirical contributions across various methods used in public sector decision-making, including BCA, cost analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, risk-benefit analysis, and damage assessment. Topics covered included non-market valuation, discounting, equity, social policy, regulation, and applications in areas such as environment, transport, energy, aging, and healthcare.
